Understanding the Nozzle Design

The nozzle is a critical part of a lotion pump, and its design greatly affects its function. Nozzles are often categorized by their shape and length. You can even find nozzles in various shapes, such as cat paw designs, which add a playful element to the pump.

• Nozzle Types:

  • Standard: The most common, all-purpose nozzle.

  • Long Reach: An extended nozzle for accessing deep or narrow containers.

  • Swan Neck: A curved, elegant design often used for premium products.

    How it works:

    1. Press Down: Pressing the actuator pushes the piston down, compressing the spring and forcing air out of the pump chamber.

    2. Create Vacuum: Releasing the actuator allows the spring to push the piston back up, creating a vacuum that draws product up through the dip tube.

    3. One-Way Valve: A ball valve inside the housing opens and closes to ensure product flows only in one direction (from the bottle to the nozzle).

    4. Dispense: On the next press, the product in the chamber is forced up the stem and out through the nozzle.
